Staycation at Le Meridien Al Aqah Beach Resort

Who doesn’t love getting pampered once in a while? I personally love lying down next to pool soaking in the sun and hit the beach at times just to admire nature. What if you got this plus some delicious food to go along with it? Well the answer is simple, go for a staycation.

I was invited for a stay with full board to Le Meridien, Al Aqah Beach Resort and knowing how much I love beaches, I instantly said yes.

Keep driving

The resort is about 1.5-2 hours drive from Dubai and the views on the way are just amazing.

Located at Al Aqah Beach (Fujairah), the resort is a 5-star property which boasts 218 rooms along with the UAE’s second biggest pool, beach access, play areas for the kids, 9 restaurants and bars offering different kinds of cuisines and lots more.

I reached the resort at about 2 pm which is the check-in time, however due to the weekend rush and a high occupancy, there was a delay in getting my room. The staff therefore offered me the card for getting the towels from the pool area, if I wanted to hit the pool till I waited for the room to get ready.

The pool at the resort is huge and is just a 2-3 minutes walk from the beach. Even though it’s a family resort, the beach area is quiet. One can hear the waves crashing on the shore. The perfect place to spend some moments of peace. Pure bliss!

The resort offers lunch at the pool bar and is the best place to be whilst you soak the sun. Nothing better than ordering fish and chips while sitting next to the beach and listening to a live band performing some amazing tracks.

If you feel like playing sports, don’t worry, they also have a volleyball court on the beach.

I was given a complimentary Club House Room and was really amazed with the size of the room. The room was spacious and had a decent sized balcony.

The balcony offered views of the pool and the beach as well. I was mesmerized by the view.

The room comes with free wifi and I was given some delicious welcome treats and lovely orchids.

I had dinner at Gonu bar and grill. The restaurant is located on the beach and is the best spot to have a relaxed dinner.

I opted for the seafood grill. The portion size is good enough for 2 people and I am sure it would be amazing having dinner at the beach with your loved one.

If you are not a big fan of grill food, you have the option of trying the other restaurants at the resort – Swaad (Indian cuisine), Taste Thai, Sapore Italian Restaurant, Views (International cuisine).

There is nothing like watching the sunrise while walking barefoot on the beach. Al Aqah Beach Resort offers such fantastic views of the sunrise that you are bound to fall in love with the resort.

Breakfast is served at Views restaurant and the spread is huge. I had bacon, pancake, waffle, sausages, baked beans and more. The breakfast was just amazing.

Not only does the resort offer amazing food, views to die for and great service, they have other things of interest too. I have listed a few of them below:

Helping in protecting the environment. The resort celebrated earth hour by turning off all the lights.

Providing space for local artists to display their talents.

A play area for the kids and a separate kid’s pool area.

Some games for the grownups as well (apart from the beach volleyball already mentioned before), plus a good gym too.

Overall, Le Meridien Al Aqah beach resort is an amazing place to stay and have a good relaxed time. You can go there alone, with your special someone, with friends or with your family and kids; the resort has something for everyone.

Disclosure:

I was invited for the stay at the resort. The stay included a complimentary room with full board, however this does not impact any of my thoughts or views about the resort. All opinions expressed are solely based on my experience and are not influenced by the hotel or its management in any way.
